Looking to plan your destination wedding in Los Cabos, Mexico? You’ve picked a breathtaking setting for your special day!
Located at the southern tip of Mexico’s Baja peninsula, Los Cabos is a municipality that encompasses the cities of Cabo San Lucas (sometimes simply called “Cabo”) and San José del Cabo. Between the two, a stretch known as the “Corridor” links the two towns and is lined with luxurious resorts and beautiful beaches. About an hour north on the Pacific Coast, you’ll find Todos Santos, a historic and artsy community of surfer ex-pats, artists and local farmers. A short flight from many major U.S. gateway cities, Los Cabos is an easily accessible vacation destination enjoying year-round sunshine and a host of exciting activities.
Cabo San Lucas
Cabo San Lucas is the epicenter of the action in Los Cabos. This vibrant city overlooks Cabo San Lucas Bay and Land’s End – the iconic rock formation that includes the stone arch symbolically marking the meeting of the waters of the Pacific Ocean and the Sea of Cortez. At Land’s End, visitors will find the lovely “Lover’s Beach” tucked between the rock outcroppings. This postcard-perfect beach is accessible via water taxi from the marina or Médano Beach. Bustling Médano is a perfect spot for people-watching and offers some of the best waters for swimming in Los Cabos. The busy marina in Cabo is where fishing charters, sunset cruises and snorkel cruises depart. This is a great spot to stroll, browse the shops, admire luxury yachts, or enjoy some great dining. Cabo is known for great nightlife, with glamorous lounges to dance the night away, casual cantinas and romantic spots to sip a sunset cocktail. From casual taquerías to award-winning gourmet restaurants, you’ll find wonderful dining options in Cabo.
Corridor
The Tourist Corridor links the cities of Cabo San Lucas and San José del Cabo. Along this stretch of sunswept beaches, glamorous resorts line the warm sands. This area is also home to two of the most popular snorkeling spots in Los Cabos. Santa Maria Bay and Chileno Bay offer calm waters and the opportunity to view some of the area’s thriving marine life up close. Snorkel cruises depart throughout the day from the Cabo San Lucas marina.
San José del Cabo
Charming San José del Cabo is nestled along a vibrant natural estuary lined with palm trees. This historic town is known for its charming architecture, traditional town square, beautiful old church, courtyard restaurants, boutiques and art district. On Thursday evenings from November to June, the Art Walk takes place in San José del Cabo. Galleries keep their doors open late and restaurants offer specials, providing a unique opportunity to experience the wonderful atmosphere of this lovely town. The Hotel Beach is a scenic stretch of sand that is generally not safe for swimming due to strong surf. However, this area is lined with beautiful resorts and the beaches are great for sun bathing and long strolls. Just minutes outside of San José del Cabo, Puerto Los Cabos is one of the area’s fastest rising stars. A world-class marina, boutique hotels, casual eateries and luxury villas are making this one of the most desired areas in Los Cabos for a laid-back vacation getaway.
